HISPID 5
HISPID version 5 was presented at TDWG 2007, and now represents the preferred format for HISPID files. This version is written in XML Schema as an extension of ABCD.
HISPID 4
HISPID version 4 was never formally released in print, appearing in a web-enabled database version in 2000. It was an incremental upgrade to HISPID 3. Since August 2007, HISPID 4 has been made available as an extract from the original database in wiki format.
HISPID 3
HISPID version 3 was released in 1996[1] and follows the syntax specified in ASN.1 format. The documentation for this standard is in HTML both as a complete document and as sections, and is available from the web site of the National Herbarium of New South Wales, Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust.

HISPID version 2 was released in 1993[2].
HISPID 1
HISPID version 1 was released in 1989[3].
